Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness” Titus‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Many things in life can’t be taught by explaining or words…. You have to show it and model it.

When I was young my dad would always come home drink and remind me that when I grow up I should not be like him — a drunkard. By grade 6 I would come home intoxicated and before I even reached high school I would be high on drugs.

As parents, we are in the best position to influence our children (at least till their adolescent years). During this short season remember that more than what we say they will do what we do. Let your actions be the same as what you say and let it speak louder than your voice.  Find me a child with manners and most probably he or she will have well mannered parents as well. A child who curses or is impatient and you more or less know what kind of parents they have.

I am alarmed actually with the kind of examples or kids can find in media. What’s the last good movie you’ve seen without a sex scene or at least kissing?

Be there for your child to teach by example or else the world will.

I love how one child have a speech to a group of parents and he did “you are afraid to release us to the world because deep inside you know you didn’t do your homework of preparing us.”
