When we entered this new world of church planting, we honestly thought it was one without limelight. I thought I’ve said goodbyes already to all the glitz and glamour of events, bands, music, beach life… John (the baptist) did show us the proper attitude in the Bible right? When his disciples called his attention that Jesus disciples were growing in popularity and number here is how he responded in John 3:
“A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater; I must become less.”
John knew his work and that when God steps in, it’s time to move out and allow him to take over the show. We are merely promoters but we are not the main actors.
But God always has a way of surprising people. Imagine, it’s hasn’t been even a year since we started Revelation City Church and ABS-CBN has already noticed what were doing in the community. God’s way of affirming us that were headed in the right direction. We appeared and promoted not just in 1 show but 3! So our week this week has been very much different from our usual. We had a day shoot for Bandila that came out Nov 13 featuring anounceoffaith.com, a day for ASAP20 last 22nd that highlighted our love story in parallel to the storyline of “A second chance” and 4 full days of work for this Tuesday’s 30 minute full episode feature on Karen Davila’s My Puhunan at 430pm (also in Chanel 2) which would highlight more of the things that we do for the community. Awesome right???
What can I say… I can just shake my head as to what God is doing. You definitely know how to lift up people’s heart and encourage them. To this I echo the song of David in Psalms 8:
” What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
We don’t know what we did to deserve this. But I thank you Jesus for all the blessings we’ve been receiving. We remember that day when we said “We’re just surrendering everything to you God and you can take us wherever you want to bring us. We trust you.” and this is what happens next.
During the message last Sunday in CCF Pastor Peter said “The Tent of the meeting (where the ark of the covenant was during the Old Testament) might not look that exciting from the outside but once you go in, it was the most beautiful place on earth back then and until today.” Indeed this is so true in our lives. When we committed our lives to Him, people thought we’d be killjoys already. However, to the core, we have this Joy that we wanna share to you… come in and take a peek guys.
