When I read this verse…. I had to stop and I literally felt God speaking to me and at that moment, I knew that I just had to write about this even briefly because i know it’s gonna encourage somebody too…

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:16-18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Do you feel like life is crumbling, or probably that you are not going anywhere, or that the best of your years are over and you’re just waiting for God to either give you a new assignment or take you?  Has life become routinary and you’ve been asking — Is this it?  Is this all that life has to offer?  Or probably you are on the fast lane and you’re being tempted — you know you can do better if only God would not limit you with all his commands in the bible?  If only the Holy Spirit would allow you, life would be better…  That you can be competitive in business (like by not paying right taxes or not declaring sales, or not giving tithes, or by bribing someone or doing corporate theft) if only you were not a Christian.

If you see yourself as one of these: Today God has a message from you from the verse above…

“I know you are facing trials, troubles, temptations and sometimes you feel your body getting weak either physically or spiritually…  Thats because you are not made for this world and that’s all part of the plan.  But start seeing these “Bumps” as level up opportunities where you get to prove and strengthen your faith.  When you are about to give up ready to claim 2nd best — remember, that I have preparing for you something better so finish the race.  So don’t settle.  Keep your eyes on the finish line and don’t let anything in life distract you. Regardless of how good it may seem,  no matter how  delicious and precious they are, everything in this life will fade away. But what I have prepared for you is yours for eternity. – God.”

So How do I apply this?

  • If you are a parent – have you taught your kids, life on earth is finite but we are made for eternity.  So don’t focus on temporal things but the eternal.
  • As a couple or a husband or a wife – Does your marriage take you closer to God? Or is it all about providing and building your empire and being a “happy” family?  (Comment:  nothing wrong with having a happy family but if its all just happy and no Jesus, I don’t care how happy and tight you are: wait till one of you dies and lets see what happens)
  • Single?  Have you allowed temptations of this world to get the better of you?  What is life all about?

So in case you are wondering why the title… our success in life is not just based on whether we are able to keep our focus but more important than that is where are we focusing.
